About Gabriel
Gabriel Séamus Butu is an international auctioneer and fundraising strategist who helps nonprofits raise more—often far more—than they thought possible.
Trained at Christie’s and later at Paddle8, the world’s first philanthropic auction house, Gabriel has spent over 12 years focused exclusively on charity auctions. His work has helped organizations across 60 cities and 3 continents raise more than $150 million in bids and donations.
Gabriel is known for preparation, strategy, and results. His auctions have produced four world-record sales, including the highest price ever paid for a game-worn NFL jersey ($1.1M), as well as a Guinness World Record. From high-profile galas at the Beverly Hilton to international stages like the United Nations, his asks consistently perform.
With degrees in Economics (LSE) and Art History, and mentorship under Alexander Gilkes, protégé of Simon de Pury, the strategy happens long before the doors open. In the room, Gabriel brings purpose, energy, and joy—creating fundraising moments that feel alive and move people to act.
Based in Florida and working globally, Gabriel supports organizations from fundraising strategy through live execution. His focus is simple: stronger asks, deeper donor engagement, and fundraising moments that actually convert.
